Trail Report

A snowy Saturday as members of the Breck, Blake, Bloomington Jefferson, Long Prairie and St. Paul Highland Park ski teams took part in ski clinics led by skinnyski.com ski team members in the morning followed by a 4km classic race in the afternoon. Grooming most of the day on the inner trails and also Twin Lakes. North Loup packed in the afternoon and will be combed in the morning. Grooming in the morning on the inner trails as well. Total snowfall was around 7″.  Colder weather moving in but dressed properly, keep moving and protection in the woods make for some nice skiing.

Big time snow falling on Saturday. As of 4:00 pm 7″ of fresh snow has fallen the past 18 hours. We groomed most of the inner trails multiple times this morning and also groomed Twin Lakes. The same trails will be groomed early Sunday morning and possibly North Loup for skating. Check back this evening for pictures of the day.

Another great day on the trails on Friday. Track set on Lucky’s Loype and Bullhead Lake trail and Island Lake trail packed. After Friday’s grooming,  all the trails had been either packed/groomed and tracks set (except Skaters Waltz extension) Tracks have been set on Mother Hen, Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, Rootin Tootin, Mother North Star, JibFly, Loon Return, Wavy Gravy, and Twin Lakes. Single green, double green, Kristins Kutoff,Skaters Waltz and North have been groomed for skating. Once we groom out this new snow, conditions should be fantastic.  A few rough spots on the marshy crossings but overall the ski conditions are good to excellent.
