Trail grooming photos from January 27th, 2004

January 27th ranks as one of the top days on the Maplelag trails that I can ever remember. We were grooming the 2 feet of snow that fell on Monday. The skies cleared, no wind and grooming through the woods was surreal. I figured between Jim and I, we groomed close to 300km the three days during and after the storm. We had a handful of folks on the trail during the day and it really was "picture perfect". I thought I would make a photo album because I will always remember this day in my head but it will be nice to have the visual when it is 90 degrees in the middle of July and I will be sitting in the cab of the Pisten Bully day dreaming about this day.

Bullhead lake trail after first lake crossing.

South side of Bullhead lake trail as it comes up the first hill.

Bullhead lake trail after going around the south side of the lake and through the marsh area on the north end of Bullhead lake. This is a favorite section of trail as the trees are always flocked nicely.

Double green trail as it passes through the square field.

Packing snow with the Bearcat on Roy's Run. Snow was coming up and over. I had to make two passes with no grooming attachment then let it set up and then set tracks the next day.

Mother North Star trail.

Pushing some snow with the renovator to a low spot. The snow was between my knees and waist where I was standing.

Trail sign almost buried in snow. If we get some more snow I might have to dig out the sign!!
