April 2003 News and Photos

We kept busy in April with a wedding to start out the month and then a jam packed weekend at the end of the month. April is also the month of the Cross Country Ski Areas Association annual convention (held in Silver Star, BC this year) and time for a little vacation. As has been the case in the past few years, we usually pick up some late season snow storm that provides for yet one last ski. April is also the month for treeplanting.

The grandparents to be were excited to see three rings come up. We make the cake from scatch for each wedding and also have it on the Scandinavian Smorgasbord during the winter season.

Jim and Mary at one of the new restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico called Xitomates. with long time friends Olivia and Nacho Gonzalez. One of the highlights in PV is tasting new and favourite restaurants in this city. There is not a city/town that boasts more variety with excellent quality and service to boot. Jim and Mary will be leading a tour of restaurants in the future. Be sure to ask Jim for details if ever planning a trip to PV.

Jim also has transplanted a couple of dozen of spruce from the square and skinny fields to the switchyard area. We also planted about 600 seedlings this year consisting of Red Pine and spruce species. Most of these trails were planted along the ski trails.
