Red breasted grosbeak at one of the Maplelag bird feeders this week.
The Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds is this weekend. Maplelag is hosting a Friday night dinner with special presentation by naturalist Paula Grieef from Oak Hammock Marsh, north of Winnipeg, where up to 400,000 waterfowl use the marsh daily during migration.

Deb and Carlene scooping up a batch of monster cookies, the fifth cookie most recently added to the bottomless cookie jars. Maplelag cranks out over 100,000 cookies in a year for the bottomless cookie jars, included, as always as part of the "package".

Most available wedding dates have filled up for 2012 and we are booking in to 2013. We also have good availability for conferences and retreats this Spring.

Norwegian Pancakes served every Saturday morning during the winter and most fall and spring weekends, featuring imported lingonberries, sour cream, pure maple syrup and farm sausage.
It was a tough year for collecting sap for pure maple syrup this season but we still will have pure maple syrup served at Maplelag!

Tips of a pair of antique ski poles recently acquired for the collection of wood skis at Maplelag.
