April 24-28: Excavation! We made loads of progress on the
excavation for the new lodge. In lower photos you'll the stakes for
the corners of the lodge, and the little scoop pushing up the walls
in the area of the new rental shop. We also received another shipment
of panel. The top row shows the excavation progress near the end of
the week. We ran into gravel while digging, a great bonus, it will be used
to provide fill over for the final grade over the clay (rather than have
fill hauled in).

April 19-21: Almost done clearing. Bob, on the little scoop, and James, on the crane,
have been doing a super job cleaning up the site of the old lodge. We've
had all the metal debris hauled away for salvage. The old rock wall was
torn down and will be used to help build a new retain wall. The last big
job on Friday was digging out the old hot tub and some of the deep footings.

April 17-18: Clearing! We had the big crane and cat to dig a trench
and remove the debris. The big tank is our old wood boiler. The metal
debris will be salvaged, the rest will go into the trench.

End of March: Here are the blueprints for the new lodge.
We feel the lodge still incorporates many of the old lodge's
features (the layout should be familiar to those who remember the old lodge),
while adding many nice improvements (better conference room facilities,
two observation towers, etc.).
